Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) is a grassroots, non-profit health sciences university established by a group of visionary community leaders in Washington’s fertile Yakima Valley.
Since Insights for Perform launched in January of 2022, PNWU has been using it twice a week to gather information on its 187 users. A significant asset to Assistant Provost Lori Fulton, it helps to organize and align performance reviews at different times of the year.
“I really like the flexibility of being able to look at the Insights dashboard from different points in time. Not only do we have different instruments and processes in the system for faculty and staff,” said Lori. “We also have different timelines for those processes.”
Each program at PNWU is unique in terms of its needs and performance metrics. PNWU uses Trakstar Perform for its performance review sequence as well as employee surveys on occasion. As helpful as this has been to the University, Lori needed more data behind these reviews. That is where Trakstar Insights became a big piece of the puzzle. PNWU learned how Insights helps them compare how different departments perform.

Insights has proven useful in looking at performance by job function for PNWU, giving them a deep look into metrics from many angles. Using the data from Insights, PNWU has been able to look at performance review scores against goals they have laid out internally for each department. This functionality helps them ensure scores stay in line with where the department’s performance scores are within the University as a whole.
“I’ve been asked to assess and utilize the data that we have available to us and give some insight to the leadership group,” said Lori.
This use case is much of the reason Trakstar created Insights. We aim to help ensure HR leaders are heard and given the information they need to have a seat at the table.
